High in the Andean village of Peru, a small select group of Artisans is at work. Manufactured on the looms of their ancestors in the Ancient tradition, one knot at a time...approximately 30,000 knots to the square meter! It takes the Artisans about seven days to produce one of these works of art. These rugs are made of a blend of 50% alpaca for luxurious softness and 50% wool for wearability. This blend has proven to be the best all around, but custom yarn blends can be done also. These deep piled rugs, sized anywhere from 8MM to 30MM, but generally 10 - 12MM will give you years and years of use and pleasure. The rugs density is about 3 - 3.5 kgs. to the square meter, giving the rug a rich feeling of weight and substance.
