The Buddha sits upon the lotus throne, his legs in the meditative position. His right hand is in the gesture of compassion and his left in the Dhyana Mudra, which symbolizes the feminine principles of wisdom. Made of cast bronze on the island of Java, the statue is an antique, circa 1920.
